Global Health Catastrophe

In the above link, the British Medical Journal and the Lancet warn of the the effects of global warming. In this editorial, they not only include strong recommendations for a carbon-free society, but also for population stabilization, an approach which we believe is essential, but often ignored.

It seems to me that many of our global problems arise simply from the fact that there are too many people on Earth, yet I never read or hear anything about population "issues". In this article there is mention of the need to address this issue with the sentence... "And population stabilisation will not be achieved if, for want of resources, girls are not educated and contraceptives are unavailable". Population stabilization is a controversial issue about which, I believe, there needs to be more discussion and, hence, awareness.
